Covid-19 Food Grain Support

Lockdown imposed movement restrictions and social distancing measures. All these took the masses by surprise gripped with fear. This hampered access to food grain. It was therefore, necessary to ensure supply of food grains in areas where the need was felt.

DCI conducted needs assessment and identified Katpuha in Nalbari district, Chenga in Barpeta district, Radhanagar, Rajnagar and Gorangabazaar in Belonia subdivision in South Tripura; Khampar Para, Asrai Para, Chachu Bazaar and Sarat Chandra in West Tripura; Fulkumai, Hariarkuti, Nengtipara Fulkumari, Sarkar Para, Chapgarh Pt – I, Malipara, Chataimari, Simlabari, Salbari and Garojan in Dhubri district for food grain support. Food grain were distributed across affected communities.

Funds for Covid-19 Food Grain Support was crowdsourced and led by Syeda Jeena Begum, Syed Ziaul Islam, Sahab Uddin, Prasenjit Saha, Aslam Hussain and a group of community volunteers.
